Overview

5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small-molecule, orally available selective inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT). NNMT methylates nicotinamide to 1-methylnicotinamide using S-adenosylmethionine as the methyl donor.

Research Background

5-Amino-1MQ has been studied in research on adipose tissue metabolism, NAD+ biology, and methyl-donor flux. NNMT is overexpressed in adipocytes from obese subjects in published research, making it a target of interest in metabolic studies.

Storage & Handling

Store lyophilized peptide at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8°C and use within recommended timeframes. Handle under sterile laboratory conditions and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
