Price range: $19.95 through $49.95
CAS Number: 70-18-8
Overview:
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine and the principal endogenous low-molecular-weight antioxidant in mammalian cells.
Description
Overview
Glutathione is a tripeptide (γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine) found at high intracellular concentrations across all cell types. It exists predominantly in its reduced form (GSH), with smaller amounts of the disulfide oxidized form (GSSG); the GSH/GSSG ratio is a key marker of cellular redox state.
Research Background
Glutathione is one of the most thoroughly studied molecules in redox biology. It has been investigated in research models of oxidative stress, hepatic detoxification, mitochondrial function, neurodegeneration, and cellular aging.
Storage & Handling
Store lyophilized peptide at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8°C and use within recommended timeframes. Handle under sterile laboratory conditions and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
