01Product details
Overview
Tesamorelin is a 44–amino acid synthetic analog of human GHRH(1-44) with an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl modification that protects it from cleavage by dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4). It is used as a reference compound in laboratory research on GHRH receptor signalling.
Research Background
Tesamorelin has been studied in research on the somatotropic axis, body composition, visceral adipose tissue, and metabolic regulation, with particular emphasis on adipose tissue biology in preclinical research models.
Storage & Handling
Store lyophilized peptide at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8°C and use within recommended timeframes. Handle under sterile laboratory conditions and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Disclaimer:
This product is for laboratory research use only. It is not intended for human or animal consumption or for use in any diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
02Mechanism of action
Tesamorelin binds the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) on pituitary somatotrophs, activating Gs-coupled cAMP signaling. This stimulates synthesis and pulsatile release of endogenous growth hormone while preserving feedback regulation through somatostatin and IGF-1. The preserved pulsatility distinguishes Tesamorelin pharmacologically from sustained-action GHRH analogs such as CJC-1295 with DAC.
03Research applications
Tesamorelin is studied in research on the somatotropic axis, visceral adipose tissue, body composition, and metabolic regulation. It is a reference long-acting GHRH analog in clinical and preclinical research.
