01Product details
Overview
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide composed of 15 amino acids in the sequence Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val. It was originally identified as a partial sequence of a larger Body Protection Compound (BPC) isolated from gastric juice and is notable in research for its stability in acidic and aqueous environments without requiring a carrier.
Research Background
BPC-157 has been studied extensively in preclinical models of tendon, ligament, muscle, and bone repair, gastrointestinal mucosal protection, and central nervous system function. Research interest centers on its angiogenic, cytoprotective, and tissue-regenerative profile across diverse injury models.
Storage & Handling
Store lyophilized peptide at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8°C and use within recommended timeframes. Handle under sterile laboratory conditions and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Disclaimer:
This product is for laboratory research use only. It is not intended for human or animal consumption or for use in any diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
02Mechanism of action
BPC-157 is studied for its interaction with the nitric oxide (NO) system, where it appears to modulate vasomotor tone and endothelial function via the Src–Caveolin-1–eNOS pathway. Research also points to upregulation of VEGFR2, supporting angiogenesis and recruitment of collateral vessels, and increased expression of growth hormone receptor in fibroblasts. Additional preclinical work has explored modulatory effects on dopamine, serotonin, and prostaglandin signaling.
03Research applications
Preclinical studies have explored BPC-157 in models of tendon, ligament, muscle, and bone repair, gastrointestinal mucosal protection, angiogenesis, and central nervous system function. It is noted in research for its stability in aqueous and acidic environments without requiring a carrier.
