01Product details
Overview
MIC is a research preparation combining three lipotropic compounds: methionine (a sulfur-containing essential amino acid), inositol (a carbocyclic sugar-related compound), and choline (a quaternary ammonium nutrient). The formulation also includes cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12).
Research Background
MIC formulations have been studied in research on hepatic lipid metabolism, methylation biology, and adipose tissue research. Each component is independently well-characterized in nutritional biochemistry literature.
Storage & Handling
Store lyophilized peptide at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8°C and use within recommended timeframes. Handle under sterile laboratory conditions and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Disclaimer:
This product is for laboratory research use only. It is not intended for human or animal consumption or for use in any diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
02Mechanism of action
Methionine is a precursor to S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), the principal methyl donor in cellular methylation reactions. Choline is a precursor to phosphatidylcholine and acetylcholine, and supports hepatic export of triglycerides via VLDL particles. Inositol is involved in phosphoinositide signaling and lipid trafficking. Vitamin B12 serves as a cofactor for methionine synthase and methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, supporting one-carbon metabolism.
03Research applications
MIC formulations are studied in research on hepatic lipid metabolism, one-carbon and methylation biology, and adipose tissue physiology. The combination is a reference preparation in lipotropic nutrient research.
