Overview

GHRP-6 is a synthetic 6–amino acid peptide (His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂), one of the earliest members of the growth hormone-releasing peptide class developed by Cyril Bowers and colleagues.

Research Background

GHRP-6 is widely used as a reference GHS in research on the somatotropic axis, ghrelin receptor pharmacology, and appetite/feeding regulation. It is notable for producing pronounced increases in research subjects’ food-seeking behavior in rodent models.

Storage & Handling

Store lyophilized peptide at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8°C and use within recommended timeframes. Handle under sterile laboratory conditions and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
